Summary in my own words
Here I will summarize the individual chapters of the book "The Christmas Pig" by the wonderful author JK Rowling in my own words.

🔖 Chapter 1 - Dur Pig: The main characters are introduced and the first time of Jack and his stuffed animal pig is described in fast motion. At the end of the chapter there is a first "scene" in which the family goes to the beach and Jack almost has to drive home without his beloved stuffed animal because he buried it in the sand and forgot where. But in the end he finds his pig again.

🔖 Chapter 2 - Mum and Dad: This chapter has 2 parts. In the first part, every child at Jack's school is supposed to bring their favorite cuddly toy and all the children are absolutely thrilled with Jack's pig. Everyone else has a teddy bear.In the second part, Jack wakes up in the night and hears an argument between his parents. In the same night, at the end of the chapter, the father leaves the house and drives away with his car.

🔖 Chapter 3 - Changes: The mother and father separate. The father moves abroad. Jack has his sixth birthday and the mother moves with Jack 100 km away, near Jack's grandparents, so that they could look after Jack when she goes to work in the evenings. Jack is supposed to go to a new school, very close to the new house. (Jack is in first grade) Jack is skeptical about the move and would rather stay in the old house and with his friend Freddy. The grandparents have a dog called "Toby". Jack likes him. On the first night in the new house, Jack thinks that the move wasn't as bad as he feared.

🔖 Chapter 4 - Holly Macaulay On Jack's first day at the new school, a learning project takes place in which children from the fourth grade are to help the first graders learn to read. Each student is given a reading partner. One of the fourth graders is Holly Macaulay, a very beloved girl, a talented gymnast and has even been on television because of it. Everyone wanted her as their reading partner, but she chose Jack. This immediately brings Jack prestige and recognition in his new class. Jack then befriends a boy named Rory.

🔖 Chapter 5 - Hollys DS Jack and Holly remain reading partners throughout the school year. Holly comes to reading class one day and is very sad. She tells Jack that her parents have split up, that she doesn't know when she will see her father again (her mother ran off with Holly while her father was at work) and that both parents now want Holly to live with them. As she tells Jack all this, Jack wonders if he is to Holly what his pig is to him.

🔖 Chapter 6 - More changes Jack becomes seven years old. He regularly telephonically communicates with his father. Holly moves to a school for older children, so she and Jack no longer see each other. Jack's mother meets a new man named Brandon. Jack is rather distant with Brandon and feels uncomfortable when Brandon holds his mother's hand. Jack would have preferred his father to hold her hand.

🔖 Chapter 7: Not Jack's Dad: It turns out that Holly is Brandon's daughter. Brandon and Judy (Jack's mother) get married and Holly is very unhappy about it. She doesn't want Judy to spend time with her father. She has been very unkind to Jack and his mother ever since. At the end of the chapter, Holly even threatens Jack and makes it clear to him that Brandon will never be his father. Almost as if Jack wanted that.

How creepy! When Jack buries the pig on the beach at the beginning and can't find it anymore :( If that had happened to one of my two stuffed rabbits, I would have died.

Man Joanne, there's one thing that's really bugging me. I legally downloaded your audiobook about the Christmas pig from Audible. But I can only listen to it in the Audible app or on the website. A few years ago I somehow managed to extract an audiobook from Audible as a file. But now I can't. Neither with the Video Download Helper from Firefox on Windows, nor with JDownloader, nor with any other tools. I was able to download it internally within the Audible app (on my smartphone), but I can't get to the audio file to copy it offline to my external hard drive. Today morning, I woke up very dreamy and wanted to continue to listening the christmas pig, but then I felt asleep again. Maybe its good for sleeping. I am realy excited to continue listen. It's my first book from you, that has nothing to do with Harry Potter, that I realy consumed. And I heared, that there will come a movie? I am only in the first chapter yet, but I am excited.

In the german audiobook, the part on the beach in the first chapter is underlined with scary music. I already posted it Sorry, I only have the german version:

I don't want to know when and how Jack will lose his pig This is what the story will be about, isn't it? I have to say, the first 5 minutes were already very tough for me. Especially when Jack almost lost his "swein" (german) on the beach. Joanne, you witch, why do you always have to describe my real life in your books? My adoptive-parents separated when I was 8 years old. And to this day I have an extremely strong bond with my two stuffed rabbits from my childhood. I just right now listened to the second chapter of the Christmas pig (I had a break at work) and I had to cry again. I stopped liking the father anyway when he said they had to go home without the pig when they were at the beach. Interesting that the separation follows immediately after that.

Good morning Joanne. Yesterday I listened to the first 5 chapters of your book "The Christmas Pig" and I think it's wonderful so far! These are my 3 cuddly toys that have accompanied me my whole life and still do today. I've had the two rabbits for as long as I can remember, and I got the dog later from my father's new girlfriend. Do you want to know their names? OK. The rabbits are both called "Floppy" and the dog is called "Schnuffi"...
I took these pictures especially for you when I woke up this morning, Joanne. That's why I look like this.

Wait. EVERYONE else in Jacks class do have a teddy bear? That's creepy. I have two (okay three) rabbits and a dog. But the dog cames later. The rabbits were first in my life and much longer.
"The children went to the front one after the other and said what their "animal" was called and why they liked it." Animal? Yo mean "bear" Teddy, Teddy, Teddy, I want additional the original english version :(

On my way to work now. I listen to chapter 3 again, to understand everything. Wish you a good afternoon, Joanne. I love you. Thank you for your books!

I really want to know what role Holly Macaulay will play in the story. She seems to me like a mix of Fler Delacour and Viktor Krum. I mean, she was in the TV and she is only 11 years old. I am in chapter 5 yet.

Do you know, Joanne, why it makes so much sense for me to write a summary for each chapter of your book 'The christmas pig'? There are several reasons. Firstly, I experience the story twice! Once when listening to the audio book and once when writing my own summary after each chapter. Secondly, it is really exciting for me to see which events I include in the summary and which I don't. In other words, what I consider important and what I don't. Thirdly, I learn English in the process.

5. Mai:
JK Rowling, you are my DP! (Directly after my two cuddly toy rabbits!)

9. Juni Spoiler alert: Since the chapter is called "Holly's DP", I really thought it was a stuffed animal or something like that 😅😮

I'm annoyed that I only have 'The Journey of Jack and the Christmas Pig' as an audiobook and not even as an e-book. I really want to read the book, but I "only" have the audio book. Well, better than nothing! But the audio book can only be played in the Audible app :( @jk_rowling

Unfortunately, I will probably have to continue listening to the audio book at work because otherwise I just won't find the time. It worked with the World Cup football matches too. I listened to the matches on the radio with one headphone in my right ear while I rode my bike and delivered pizzas. I can do it the same way with Joannes Audiobooks!

Joanne, it just happened.... I am shocked. If I were Jack, I would have jumped out of the car immediately, no matter if I get hurt or die. This scene touches me so deeply. But what reader doesn't? "HOLLY! SHIRE! MY PRECIOUS!"
More spoiler: @jkrowling, The German audio book has sound effects, music and is spoken by several speakers. This key scene is so scary. First the scream, then the throw out of the window with the dark sound and Jack makes a noise like as if he couldn't breathe anymore. Horror...
I really thought Jack would lose his pig in the city or in the shopping mall. But I just didn't expect that.
I don't dare listen any further. I'm afraid of myself when I imagine how I would behave now if I were in Jack's place, especially towards Holly. That's how wars can start.
I just finished listening to chapter 14. What I don't understand: Didn't Jack want to go to the highway? To where his pig REALLY is? Why does he immediately believe the other pig that DP is in a magical wonderland? And how can he just fall asleep when he wanted to save DP?
On the other hand we don't know how far the highway is away and especially where the exactly place is where Holly threw DP out the window.
